The app lets you set a weekly target and visualize a daily goal based on that target. Not really excited about your walking workout? ActivityTracker helps you recharge your depleted motivation by allowing you to set achievable goals and to continuously monitor your progress. The app can measure the steps taken, the distance walked or ran, the flights of stairs climbed, the total active time and the amount of calories burned. This is the right solution for your needs if you want to monitor your physical activity on a daily basis and still enjoy your phone’s battery (no GPS). Here is a list of ten walking apps for iPhone which you can effectively use to stay active and get in shape: ActivityTrackerĪctivityTracker is an easy to use iPhone app to track how much you walk. On the other hand, those that take advantage of the iPhone’s built-in motion processor can track our activity with the minimum impact on your battery. GPS-based apps offer the advantage of not only measuring, but also mapping our routes, but at the same time they’ll drain our batteries. When it comes to iPhone walking apps we can opt for two types: apps that use GPS and apps that use the built-in motion processor.

Fitness trackers can be quite expensive, whereas the majority of apps come with free versions. We’d have to always remember to carry it with us when we exercise, always remember to charge it, not to mention the financial aspect. In order to track our movement we don’t really need to buy an additional fitness tracker.

Just by being more active, by doing simple things like taking the stairs instead of the elevator or going for a walk instead of sitting down in front of the TV, we can become fitter and healthier.Īll we need is a little bit of drive and the right mobile apps to guide us along the way. Either way I'm sure you can come up with something.Engaging in more physical activity can be a great way to improve our overall health. Alot of times what I do is use wifi to load the google maps that I need into the phone before I leave the house at the hight level that I need and then just go back into maps when I get to that area. Perhaps GPS could record your location data/timestamps/etc and you could save that and load the map data or whatever else you need later. So please take this into account when making this sort of program.
#IPHONE GPS TRACKS HOW TO#
In the meantime I'm going to continue attempting to learn how to program for the iPhoneĮDIT: Also keep in mind that when riding trails you OFTEN do NOT have access to cellular network or WIFI. Hope you guys can come up with something great.

I would love this EVEN MORE for when we take trips to other ATV riding areas and I could record thier trails and find my way back to special places in no time!

After I'm done riding all of the trails (Or perhaps there could be a save for later to let you continue recording since you may not be able to ride all of the trails in one day) but after you are done, have some kind of save or upload to server or something so that next time I go riding I can see my complete recorded trail on my map with GPS enabled for my current location and at any given time I can see exactly where I am in my trails and where the closest trails to me are, and where they lead. I'd like to be able to specifiy certain trails when I record them, but overall if the program could just let you hit "Start Recording" and I go ride all of my trails, that would be satisfactory as well. Having an app like this to record my trails and save them, (and then let my view them with live tracking later on) would help TREMENDOUSLY. Where I live, we have TONS of trails, so many in fact that I forget about some of them/forget where they even lead to. I too have been looking for an app like this for ATV trails.
